How many courses should I see on my student’s course request? |
You should see 12 courses listed on your student’s course requests. Exceptions may be for students who are taking Dual Enrollment courses next year. |
What if my student has met the Personal Fitness exemption criteria and wants to seek a Personal Fitness exemption? |
Students should complete the Personal Fitness exemption form no later than May 1 of his/her junior year of high school. |
What if my student wants to take a course that requires an application? |
Students should complete and return the application listed on the elective sheet by March 31. |
How does my student take an honor, AP, or IB course if he/she was not recommended by his/her teacher to take the course? |
Students should speak to their teachers to get their rationale for placement and complete and return a waiver form to their counselor by March 31 if they want to move forward with the waiver after speaking to their teachers. Waiver forms can be found in the Centennial Course Catalog and Scheduling / Course Catalog

How does my student register to take Dual Enrollment courses? |
Students should follow all steps indicated on CHS DUAL ENROLLMENT - Overview (weebly.com) by March 31. Dual Enrollment classes will not present as college courses until the student is fully admitted and registered for collegiate courses. |
What if my student wants to take an online class in the Fall or Spring? |
Students should complete/return the online contract and register for the Fall and Spring courses using the steps indicated on Virtual School, Summer School & Credit Recovery – Centennial High School Counseling (mycentennialcounseling.com) by March 31. Please note that registration may not open until mid- to late March. |
What if my student wants to take an online course for acceleration this summer? |
Students should register for summer school using the steps indicated on Virtual School, Summer School & Credit Recovery – Centennial High School Counseling (mycentennialcounseling.com) by March 31. |
What if my student needs to re-take a previously failed course this summer? |
Students should register for summer school using the steps indicated on Virtual School, Summer School & Credit Recovery – Centennial High School Counseling (mycentennialcounseling.com). Registration deadlines are indicated on the website, and we will share additional information as it becomes available. |
