The Centennial High School Counseling Program is a comprehensive program focused on increasing student achievement by providing academic, social/emotional, and career counseling to help all students to reach their fullest potential.
Principles of Counseling
Professional School Counselors meet the developmental needs of all students
Through classroom guidance, small group and individual counseling, with each intervention grounded in the standards, competencies and indicators of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).
Counselors collaborate with stakeholders, including school administrators, faculty, and staff, parents, and community members, to maximize efforts in supporting them to succeed in school and reaching their post-secondary goals. Centennial’s counseling program is congruent with the components and key construct of the ASCA National Model.
Centennial’s counseling program has earned the high honor of the RAMP award (Recognized ASCA Model Program) for 3 consecutive periods in a row.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION/INFORMACION IMPORTANTE
IOFI (Office of Family Independence): the entity of DFCS that supports Medicaid, food stamps and other benefits will start back with their annual renewal process in April. They have not done the renewal process since before the pandemic began. This is important because if families do not respond to their renewal notice, benefits will be stopped until they complete the renewal (renewals typically request income verification). North Fulton DFCS office on Roswell Road is permanently closed. However, if the family prefers to meet with an OFI case manager in person (*or if they are unable to get their case manager on the phone) the family can go to ANY office, regardless of the county they reside in. So for North Fulton families, they can go to Cobb Co (W), Forsyth Co (N), Gwinnett Co (NE) or Cherokee Co (W) DFCS offices. For South Fulton families, DeKalb Court (E), Clayton County (S), Spalding County (S), Fayette County (S),
Carroll County (W), Coweta County (SW) DFCS offices. Families that are applying for benefits and those that already have them should be sure to make an account through Gateway and they can always check their status and their renewal date through their Gateway account https://m.gateway.ga.gov/home (in English and Spanish).
